Age Group White

Overview:

Age Group White represents our swimmers first transition from lessons/clinic onto the competitive swim team. This group generally consists of swimmers ranging in age from 5 years old to 8 years old, although there isn't an age restriction. All swimmers in the group must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke with relative ease and 25 yards of either breaststroke or butterfly. The primary goal for this group is to teach swimmers about the sport of competitive swimming. The training focus is on learning proper technique of the four competitive strokes, starts, turns, and kicking.

Attendance Expectations:

Age Group White practices 3 times each week for 75 minutes, which includes 15 minutes of dryland prior to getting in the water to swim. Age Group White swimmers are encouraged to swim in meets, as selected by the coaches, approximately once every four to six weeks. The group begins in early September and runs through the end of July.
